was commenced on Sunday last with the installation of a now transformer at the sub-station at the Harbour Boards cool stores. With the increased demand for current for the Board's capstans and cranes, the present transformer of 235 k.v.a. capacity 1 has proved too small and the larger onenow being erected will lf»'fl an atopic margin. To avoid shutting off the current on working days the work, which is being carried out by tho Publio Works Department, is being 'done on Sundays. The transformer which, at present supplies the Borough Council is also in the Harbour Board substation, and this will necessitate the current being cut off from both town and waterfront for oeveral Sundays to come.
