The Supreme Court, at Aosswrdara has rejected the claim of Janes Taylor. a resident of Woolwich, to the eaiafc* of Pieter Taylet Vanderhul>t. repattd to be worth six millions sterling. Vanderhnlst died at Haarlem in iTTS. He ordered that his money shookl nofc be toncheil for a century, after which, it was to be distributed to the male descendants, many of whom have Mac* failed to prove their claim.
The Court has now decided that the right of the heirs has been superannuated.
The ''Daily Chronicle** state* that Vanderhnlst was previously a Scotsman, who migrated to Hollaed, and amassed a fortune «s a merchant shipper. Originally he left thre* and a half millions, also four steel chests, whkh arc still unopcne.l, in the Haarlem Museum, the contents of which ar* tuskuown.
Fart of the estate was bequeathed to the founding of thirty-two almshouses at Haarlem. The remainder has now increased to the ram of six Bullions.
Claimants to this wealth have feeea legion, and they have come froa» Seo*. land, England and America.
One group of nine Scottish famtbJM pooled their resources to fight tbeckuns, but thev were unsuccessful.
