ELOCUTION RECITAL.

A well-known selection of the works of British writers, so variod as to. tax the capability of the most accomplished elocutionist, will bo presented by Mr Percy I», Davies at his first recital in tho Choral Hall on Thursday evening, February 26th, and will no doubt be welcomed by a large audience, of the drama and muaic-loving people of Christchurch. Mr Davies is well known as a master of elocution. The programme to be presented is a comprehensive and miscellaneous one, comprising- . pioccs by the following composers and authors:—Poe, Kip-? ling, Sims, Mel. B. Spurr, Shakespeare, Bracken, Hugo, Tcnnyfion, and Pert Wee. Associated with Mr Davies in his recital is Miss Duleic Mitcholl,, bronze and silver medallist and certificated iteacher of singing from tho Royal Academy of Music, London, havinp for the past year bcon giving recitals in London, Brussels, and Paris. A pupil of Signor Randegger, Charles Phillips, and Sir Henry "Wood, also lecturer and soloist for tho' Carncgio Trust- Fund, Miss Mitchell needs no introduction in Christchurch.
