WANGANUI, February 13,

A destructive fire broke, out at 3 a.m. * n the Post Office Restaurant, Ridgway street.. The brigade was quickly on the spot, but the flames had a big hold before the alarm was given. The fire spread to Dustin's bakehouse, and this, together with a billiard-room in an upstairs portion of the block, and Fergusson 's sweet shop, was destroyed. The premises of H. Crysell, jeweller, and the offices of. Bruce and . Caird ' were damaged, but a. brick wall prevented any further spread along the :• street. Nicholson's Motor Company lost a .thirtyneater bus-and a Hudson car, which were in a right of way.- ,
