SUBMERSION OF A YILLAGK i (BT OABU!—Pa»88 ASSOCIATION COPYRIGHT.) (iUSTBALUN ANl> N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, February 7. The Manchester Corporation has decided to expend £10,000,000 immediately on a water scheme, including the lengthening of Thirlmera Lake from two and a half to four and a half miles and widening it from a quarter to Half a mile. This would entail the §ubmerging of a Tillage and parish church. Tho scheme also would necessitate the btlllding of 74 J- miles of aqueduct, of which 28 miles would bo underground. The scheme would ultimately cost £20,000,000.
