SANDWELL CAMP.
♦— — OFFICIAL INSPECTION. An official inspection of the Sandwell Scoutmasters? Camp at New Brighton was carried out yesterday afternoon by Brigadier-General A. W. Andrew, Dominion Chief Commissioner, and the following members of tho Dominion Executive: —Lt.-Col. F. B. Creswell, Lt.-Commander Tebbs, Messrs L. M. Tsitt, M.P., H. S. J. Goodman, H. H. Smith, and T. W. Charlewood. The opportunity was taken of the inspection to present Scoutmaster F. W. Sandford, who recently visited England with the New Zealand troop of Scouts, with his Wood. Badge, and Gilwell scarf, along with a certificate from Sir Robert Baden Powell. Brigadier-General Andrew, who made the presentation, briefly addressed the scoutmasters, and urged upon them the necessity of seeing that all Boy Scouts attended Divine service at least once a month. He also pointed out the value of giving the boys a certain amount of drill to smarten them up, and pointed out the necessity of impressing on the boys the value of loyalty and fostering the true . scouting spirit. He stated that he had been considerably impressed by the work done by scoutmasters in all parts of New Zealand, and the spirit shown by them.
