A MIRACULOUS ESCAPE. (»T CA»LB—PMSS ASSOCIATION— COPTKHWT) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLB ASSOCIATION.) NEW YORK, December 26. Kenneth Clark took his wife and mother-in-law for a motor ride on Christmas night. When crossing"" a railway lino the motor stalled, just as an express train, travelling at 60 miles an hour, passed. Clark and his mother-in-law were'uninjured, and though they both searched diligently they found no trace of the wife. A few minutes later a farmer at a wayside station saw a, woman clinging to the front of a locomotive. It took some minutes to convince th'e driver that lie had a new passenger. Mrs Clark was unconscious from the cold, having travelled 16 miles, and would probably have perished soon. Otherwise she was unhurt.
