MANSLAUGHTER CHARGES.
♦ TWO AUCKLAND CASES. (PHKSS ASSOCIATION nLZGXk*.) AUCKLAND, December 23. George Denton, aged 35, was charged in the Police Court with manslaughter, arising out of the death of William Campbell, a tramway motorman.. who was knocked down while checking time. He was committed for trial, bail of £IOO being allowed. Jeffrey Williams Waymouth, a motor salesman, was committed for trial on a charge of manslaughter in connexion with the death of George Bailey, aged 19. who was knocked down by accused: s car at Devonport on December 13th. The Coroner found that Waymouth was guiltv of negligence in the manner he had "driven the'car just prior to the accident.
