BRITISH OFFICIALS IN EGYPT. RESULT OP ZAGHLULIST REGIME. (it CABLE—PEXSS ASSOCIATION—COPtaiO*T) ("THIS HKIS.") (Received December 23rd, 1.20 a.m.)' CAIRO. December 22. The Egyptian authorities are much concerned over tlie situation in. tbo Civil Service. - A large number of foreign officials, accepting the option, will retire next April. This is the outcome of the uncongenial position, in which thpy were placed under the late ZagWulist regime. The new Government is doing its best to remedy th© situation, but the mischief has already been done. The retirements particularly affect the technical services and the Police Force. Th© departure of the British officers is regarded with serious approhension. by the foreign communities who do not consider an Egyptian officered Police Force sufficient to assure protection.
