In the Housp of Commons, replying to Lieutenant-Commander Kenworthy (Hull City), who called attention to the importance of the international aspect of the Spanish withdrawal from Morocco, Mr Austen Chamberlain (Foreign Secretary) said he was unable to foreshadow the Government's attitude towards a series of contingencies which had not yet arisen, but tho Government would do everything to prevent a domestic trouble becoming an international quostion.

In a long interview with the British Ambassador regarding war measures, General De Bivera said that he contemplated acting in concert with France to protect the international zono in Morocco. DIRECTORY CLOSES LODGE. MADRID, December 19. Senor A. Magaz is acting as President of the Spanish Directory. The authorities have closed the Masonic Lodge buijding, and have banished Scnor F. Jimenez, ex-Governor of Seville, on a charge of publishing an article hostile to tho Directory.
