RAKAIA ITEMS.
The' following rinks have been selected to represent Rakaia against Ashburton to-morrow: —Holmes (s.), Weaver, Magson, Black; Newman (s.), Merjin, Cessford, AUen; Wright (s.), Milne, Stubbs, Blacklcy, Henderson (s.), Hardy, Palmer, Bells. Emergencies: McNamara and Shannon. On Thursday evening, at "The Pines," the residence .of Mrs Trevella, a social evening was given in, honour of Mr W. Whalley, who is to be married shortly. The Rev. E.' Alexander, on behalf of a number of friends, presented Mr Whalley with a set of Pyrex dishes, and wished him happiness and prosperity. ' On behalf of the members of. the local railway staff, Mr E. MeSweeney conveyed good wishes, to Mr Whalley. Mr Whalley suitjbly replied.
