CONCERT AT HOSPITAL.

DERRY'B AND WOOLSTON BANDS

To-morrow promises one of the finest band concerts ever held in Christchurch. In the ' beautiful Hospital Gardens at 3 p.ip. the \VoolGton Band and also Derry's Band will provide a splendid programme. The selection of pieces will be comprehensive, and many of the world's masterpieces will be played. The two bands will number upwards of a hundred performers, and an exceptional musical treat is assured the public. Tho worthy object of the conceit is to provide Christmas-trees and gifts tor the children in tho hospitals and orphanages. Jj'or this purpose a silver coin collection will bo takoii up. Hear tho Chalmers -Ward will be a gift table, where the public are asked to deposit gifts of toys, booJ-:s, etc., for the 'little ones. During the performance the Mayor and also Professor Shelley will address the gathering, and amplifiers will broadcast tli© messages. At this time of tho year on© and all who bavo children of their own aro devising, ways and* means -to ensure them having a happy Christmas, but there are unvrards of 1000 littles ones in Canterbury who have no one to provide the simple whing3 teat make tho restive season bright and cheery.
