CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE. (SPECIAL TO "THE PBESS.") BLENHEIM, November 27. J. P. Hannan, who retained tho Australasian sculling championship in a contest with R. A rest at Hamilton recently, 101 revisiting Blenheim, and is waiting to hear from Darcy Hadfield aa to the proposed contest with him for the' world's sculling championship. Hadfield, to whom the world title reverted aa' a. result of Pad don s retirement, met with a motor-cycle accident at Auckland recently, in which he was somewhat seriously injured, and there has been some doubt aa.to whether he will row again. It 18 understood that in the event of Hadfield being unable to meet an engagement, the Auckland and Hamilton people would trv to arrange for Paddon to come across and row Hannan. The position under the rule 3 is that if Hadfield is unable to meet Hannan and Paddon adheres to his retirement tiie world's eculling championship will nass to Hannan by "forfeit. Hannan, who the world holding a championship. He mentioned that he struck wonderful form at Hamilton, and he feels that he can still rely cn. this form.
