Members of the Christohurch Working Men's Club on Wednesday evening paid n visit to the Lyttelton Club and played thorn at billiards, auooker and cards.- The visitors won four out of six games of billiards, and every one of six games of snooker, but at cards tha Lyttelton Club ■won by CJ games to 29. Tho visitors were subsequently entertained at supper, and a. number of toasts were honoured. The Mayor of Lytteltou, Mr W. T. Lester, proposed tho toast of "Tho Yi«itors," Mr W. Moore responding. Mr W. Toy proposed the tosust of "Tho Performers." rn whose behalf Mr L. Matthews responded. Item* were given bv Messrs L\ Matthew?, L. Toomcv. B. O'Connor, J. Cooper, U. Grenfell, TJren, and W. Booth, Mr B. Domiohtlli acting as accompanist. Mr W. "Wales, president of the Lyttelton Club, woloomed tho visitors, and Mr A. Pevorili, president of the Christohurch Working Men's Club, responded.
