DRILL HALL FIRE.
£IO,OOO DAMAGE. (puss Assocupos TautiaAa.l WELLINGTON, November 26. The Drill Hall at Lower Hutt was burned last night. The fire apparently started in the roof of a small office at the corner of the building. Among the contents destroyed were six six-inch howitzers valued at about £ISOO each, hundreds of rifles,, and a lujgQ quantity of small arms and ammunition. The loss, which is estimated at about £IO,OOO, falls on the Government, and there is no insurance. This is the third time in two years that the building has been on fire, and it is thought that a spark from a mill close by may have been the cause.
