RANGIORA HIGH SCHOOL BOARD.
e The monthly meeting of the Itangiora High. School Board was lidd last nighty Mr E. Ball presiding. The chairman extended a welcome to Mr R. D. Hutcheson, who hae been elected to seat on tho Board to fill the vacancy caused "by the death of the late Mr H. Boyd. Correspondence was received from the Department of Education, authorising the expenditure of £530 on a new plaas-room, woodwork room, etc. It was decided to make application to the Department for authority to borrow £1650 on the eecurity of the Boaid's income from endowments, the amount to he spent in paying off existing liabilities. The Finance Committee reported 0 n the income and payments from the hostel. On the boys' hostel income met the expenditure, hut in the case of the girls' hostel a deficiency was shown of £134. It wa« resolved that the Hostel Committee meet and confer with the matron and discuss the question of the deficiency with a view to -economising. Owing to the indisposition ofthe principal, Mi* J. i*- Straclian, the monthly report was not receivedt
