MOTOR COLLISION.

TWO PERSONS INJURED. Two persons were injured in a motor collision at the intersection of Salisbury and Victoria streets on Saturday evening. They were Mrs Bentley, wife' of Mr F. O. Bentley, 19 Warwick street, Richmond, and her son, Leo, aged about ten. They were travelling in a Ford, which was being driven by Mr R. Bunt, 184 Bealey avenue, at about 9.3d p.m. along Salisbury street from Park terraoe proceeding east. Another ear, a Mitchell, driven by Mr Frank Pereau, taxi-driver, was proceeding towards the city along Victoria street at a pace, according to the driver, of about twelve to fifteen miles per hour. The two ears came into collision on the tram liije, each 'being on its correct side. The Ford was struck on the left rear side with such force as to smash off a rear -wheel, besides knocking trie mudguard about and doing other damage. Mrs Bentley, who was suffering from shock and an injured leg, was taken to the Hospital in an ambulance, the boy being able to go to his home after being attended by Dr. Tbompsos. At the time of the accident it was raining heavily. Mr Bunt states that his car at the time of the impact was crossing the road at from eight to ten miles per hour. Where the cars collided the tramline is sprinkled with broken glass from the shattered windscreens. ANOTHER COLLISION. The above is one of the many collisions reported in these columns during the past twelve months. These collisions are certain to cost the car-owner a considerable sum unless we take the risk under one of our comprehensive policies.
