The Churches. To-day,. All Saints' Day, is the forty eighth anniversary of the consecratioi of the Sumner Parish Chureli. Then will be Holy Commnnion at 9.30 a.m. and special services all day. The vicai will preach in the morning jmd the Rev J. P. Coursey at the evening service, The choir h : s been practising special music for tho day. Canon ,T. de li. Galwev will preach at tlie Mission Room, Redcliffs, to-morrow morning and Mr G. Stoning at night. Tennis Club Dance. The Redcliffs Tennis Club held its opening day dain-c in the Community Hall, which was decorated for the occasion with red and black streamers. Brooks's Orchestra, supplied the music, extras being played by Miss A. Hill. The committee responsible for the excellent arrangements were: Misses 31. Newbergh, ]). Cotton, and A. Etheridge, A. Whitley, 11. Ogier, E. Allen, B. Round, Jac-k Burns, R. Wilkinson, S. Nicholson, M. Hullett, A. McDowell. M. Barber, Webster, Dobson, P. Taylor. G. Soancs, R. Todd, L. Truscott, P. Brown, L. Goldsmith, Erroll Smith, Williams, R. Hampton, J. Neilson, B. Burns, Sutherland (2), J. Beattie, S. Neilson, J. Hines, and many others. Personal. The Mayor and Mayoress (Mr and Mrs W. 11. Nicholson) are leaving soou for a week's holiday in Palmerston North. The Town Clerk (Mr Siddall) has returned from Auckland. Beautifying Association. Mr T. B. Boulton presided over a meeting of the Sumner Beautifying Association. Three new members were elected. Miss E. W'ilson wrote wishing the Association success ami enclosing a donation of £2 2s. Dr. C. Chilton wrote about the piece of bush at. Redcliffs, stating that he had received some line photographs and thought the spot worth looking after- It was resolved that the chairman and secretary should wait upon the Redcliffs Gala Committee with regard to a combined effort for a Queen Carnival, and that the Sumner Association should grant the lledcliffs Association the sum of £lO towards its funds.
