EAST CHRISTCHURCH SCHOOL.
At the last meeting of : the East Christchuich School Committee there were present Messrs \\\ O. Harvey (in the chair), Rcsmda'e, Cowpcr, Grav and Johnson. Apologies were received "from Mr J. A. (3range and Dr. Berne. The headmaster reported that the roll number was 390, with an average attendance of 796. He detailed- several matters requiring' urjent attention, and it was decides! to write 5 to the Board thereon and to ask for the school to be equipped throughout with dual desks. It was decided ! y write - Mr "Wake welcoming him back to duty and to- Mr G. Lawn thanking him for Lis services as actir o, hca'dmaster. • It was 'agreed thfit tho man cor.f;r with tho headmaster and staff relative to the school picruc and a reproduction of t lie fancy dress display held recent !y at the school.
