NELSON DAY.
On October 2lst, 1805, Admiral Viscount Nelson, on board tho Victory, lost his life at tho battle which gavo to'*Britain that command of the sea on which tho security of the British Kmpi.ro depends to-day. To-morrow, throughout tho British Empire wherever there is a branch of the Navy League, Nelson Day will be commemorated lor tho purpose of. rcmindinp; people of Nclnon's wholehearted devotion to duty, and to | help to keep alive tho sea spirit which is so necessary in the various Dominions comprising that Empire. Tho Canterbury (X~.Z.) branch of tho Navy League invites citizens to hoist flags on their business places. Wreaths aiyfi other flural emblems contributed by public bodies and societies in memory of those who lost their lives at Trafalgar and in the last Great War, will Ik* displayed on the west front of tb« Christchureh Anglican Cathedral.
