A REMARKABLE WILL.

Mr Albert Solomon Nathan, of this city, who died last week, aged 68, left a sum of over £350,000, and his will has • been so remarkably drawn that while there are many 'legacies to relatives and to public institutions—mostly London Jewish institutions —the estate, it ia estimated, will in fifty years '<|ime be worth over a million pounds, and is then to be handed over to the Jewish Colonisation Trust for the establishment of a Nathan Family Fund, to be used '' in tho restoration of the Jews to their ancient home in Palestine, either by the acquisition of land, financial assistance, or otherwise.•"' Mr Nathan's principal charitable be-quest-is one of £SOOO to Grey's Hospital, Pictermaritzburg, for tho purpose of the erection of an Albert Nathan Memorial Ward, to 'be reserved for poor patients; and in addition he has left au annual sum of £SOO for the period of fifty years for the upkeep of the ward. Mr Nathan was born at Colmar, Posen, Prussia. While in his teens he migrated to New Zealand, and entered into a partnership with a man named Isaacs. This proving unsuccessful, he came to Natal, and carried on with his brother a prosperous drapery business in this city. Most of his fortune, however, was made in gold share speculation!!.
