At tbr October meeting of the Sydenham School Committee there were present- - l.c . ,T K Archer (chairman,', Messrs *. a. Fravle. T. TI. V.utterfield. H. J. Hklmhot-, j It. Pratt, E. A. J. Hooper, and J. u. headmaster reported ih.it the number on the mil at the end of September : Boys, 53": jrir'.s, -190. The fvora.So attendance for the month was 7:1", or .3 per coin, and the average attendance, for tlie oiiarter S.'n or 81 per cent. Tho measles opir.cinie, he f.aid, affected the attendance, and the health officer had closed, the infant department for a fortnight. Miss Archer ami. Mr McClatchev left the. staff at. the end of the month. Their places had been taken by Misses Alabasteritnd Lindsav. Mr Todd h"d resigned, and would leave at the cr.d of tho present month. The goitre treatment by means of iodine tabloids is in full swinp and working satisfactorily. Seventy -per cent, of the. children are receiving treatment with their parents consent. Misses "F. A. Mulleiijrer, A. T!. Alabaster, and I. M. FrankMn have been appointed assistant mistresses in the school. Mr H. K. McCaw was appointed by the committee to fill the vacancy on the committee caused by the resignation of Mr W. H. J/"xtein, tvlio had left tho district. Messrs H. J. IToddinott- and K. A. .T. Hooper trcre appointed c. visiting committeo for tho ensuing month.
