He was wirelcssly informed of Ballymena's mishap, which consisted of a comipound fracture close to the fetlock joint. Brown, the rider of David, says his mount wns not near enough to have galloped on Ballvmena, and Reed, the latters rider, confirms this. MELBOURNE TRAINING NOTES. MELBOURNE, October 11. There is light showery weather for the races at Canlfield. On the tracks this morning Rawhetu covered three furlongs in 38sec, Beppinsan fire in Imin 6?, see, and Whittier two in 25isec. Accarak (E. O'Sullivan), assisted by Wahinbee, did nine furlongs on the sand in 2min Isec, and went well. King Victor and Moes Trooper, ran a. mile in lmin 47sec, and Suomi did a leasurely seven furlongs. La Boniform went a. mile in lmin 52sec, Stare and a lightweight nine furlongs in 2min 2see. * King of Mirth did his best over nine furlongs in 2inin, covering the last mile in lmin- 47isec. Penshurst did a mile in lmin 48sec. The weather was showery at Flemington. Ba-ckwood ran a mile and a quarter in 2min ISisec. The Hawk merely cantered. Wallace Mortlake, Prince Charles, and Minimbah have arrived from Sydney and put in useful work. Graculus covered nine furlongs in - 2min 4sec and, assisted by Gunadorah, did the last six in lmin 22-isec. Heir Apparent went over a mile in lmin 51scc. Gunsong did six furlongs in lmin 19isec ; and Wyoherley and Isis King nine in 2min Bsec.
