SHEARING TROUBLE.
MEN ACCEPTING AWXRD RATES. There are no important developments to record respecting the position n» Canterbury in connexion with the threatened trouble witli shearers, Mr "W. H. Th© tallies ranged'from 117 to 200 a day, ajid tlto was 171' a day a man, equal to £5 2s 9d a day a shearer. Mr Nicholson commented that even if they had lost 20 per cent, more time the shearers would have made very good money.
