DOMAINS BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The Christchurch Domains Board met yesterdav. Present-Messrs G. Harper (chairH. J. Bsswick, C. W. Hcrvcy, W. H. Winsor, S. A. Orchard, McGregor Wright, A. Freeman, and J. I'. Scott. Mr R. B. Owen, secretary or the Banasmen's Memorial Committee, wrote asking tor permission 10 erect tic memorial bandstand in the Gardens near the Tea Kios*.. The matter was referred to the Gardens Committee tor a report. The United Tennis, Bowling, and Croquet Club was frr-mted permission to connect the pavilion with the electric light _ supply. The Christchurch Foot bail Ciuo v.rofe s.ptin- that it bad been decided to offer the dressing shed in Hagley Park to the board. The oScr was accepted, thanks. The Canterbury Pilgrims' Association was granted -permission to hold a- gathering ill the Gardens on December 30th. The Curator reported on the work done in the Gardens during: the month. The whole of the work was well forward. The financial statement showed receipts £699 63 3d, and expenditure £312 -Is lOd. The debit balance at September 4th was £909 10s 4d. The trust account was in credit £1974 6s'9d. This amount had been deposited with the City Council at 4 per cent, at call pending investment. The amount of levy outstanding was £1574 Ss Od. The Sports Committee recomroenaed that a site in the north-east corner of South Haglev Park be granted tor the erection of the proposed hockey pavilion, subject to the Board's approval of the phns and financial arrangements. The committee had sugsested to the representatives of the Ladies 7 Hockcv Aseoci-ition that" they should confer with the Canterbury Hockey Association, Canterbury Cricket Association, and the C-an-terbnrv Ru=by Union with a view to united action" in connexion with the erection of the pavilion. The report and recommendation were adopted.
