Golf. The Diamond Harbour Golf Club will c'ose its season to-day. Driving, approaching and putting competitions will be held. Tho launch leaves Lyttclton at 1.15 p.m. The annual match, ladies v. men, for tho Banfield Cup, will bo played at Charteris Bay to-morrow. Tennis. The opening of the Te Whaka Tennis Club's season, postponed from last Saturday on account of rain, will take place this afternoon. The, Trinity Tennis Chtb will also open the season this afternoon. Seamen's Institute. The responsibility of entertaining the seamen visiting the Port has b<sen carried on during tho week with the co-operation of the loaal churches and friends. Tho Thursday evening concert was given by the Lyttclton ladies' -Guild. Items were contributed by Misses Cracroft Wilson, Niclioll, Slater, Fdna Avrcs, Ivv Khoda, Mr R. A. Turner ; the Rev. T. M. Currow, and the local quartet (Mrs Shadboit, Miss Slater, Messrs Arthur Smith and Nelson). Miss Sinclair was the accompanist. The ladies responsible for the suppor were Miesda-mcs T. M. Curnow, R. Clow, and E. Wilson. Girls' Friendly Society. The St. Saviour's branch of the Girls' Friendly Society gave a very successful gift evening for their kitchen stall at St. Saviour's flower show. ■ Tl\g h&ll -was wtsll fillc-i and maaiy gifts wcra brought. The items were as follows: --Opening chorus, G.F.S. members, assisted by Sunday scholars; picture song, "Buy My Strawberries/' Miss I. Roder and members; comedietta, "Cupid, in. the Kitchen," Misses I. Roder, O. Nicholl and M. Mather; picture song, Mißsefl I. Roder, M. Robertson, P. Mather, M. Mather, T. Welsh, and O. Nicholl; song, Miss Betty Brooke; dialogue, "Doctor Maxi, Misses B. Brooke, B. Weastell and N Wilson : recitations. Misses, B. Weastcll and N Wilson; vioiin solo. Master W. Gilray, solo dance, Miss O. Sproule: musical monologue, "Miss O. Nicholl. The accompanists we're Mesdames Curnow and Brooke. After the formal programme, competitions were held, followed by 3upper and a. d&n<*,. tbe music being supplied by Mesdamcs Curnow and Brooke and Mr P. Foster.
