LEAVE TO APPEAL.
MOTION BY CHRISTCHURCH RESIDENT. (PEESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, October 3. The Court of Appeal was engaged today hearing a motion for leave to appeal in forma pauperis in which E. W. E. Sequo was the applicant. Mr O. T. J. Alpers, of Christchurch, appeared in support of the motion, which was for leave to appeal against a judgment of Mr Justice Adams for defendant in the action brought by Seque against the Christchurch City Council, claiming damages for injuries suffered in an accident near one of the Council's bridges. At the trial the jury found for plaintiff, and awarded him £BOO damages, but Mr Justice Adams found for defendant. It was plaintiff's own blunder or error that was the cause of the accident. Judgment was reserved.
