The Miners' Executive and Mr Mac Donald had a long conference on the question of the effects of the Dawes scheme on ihe eoai mining industry. The miners urged that the settlement of reparations in coal should be discontinued. The industry already was in a state of jeopardy, with 100,000 men out of work. Mr Mac-Donald replied that the Ministry had accepted the Dawes plan, and could not now modit'v it.
