George Prendergast, a third offender, was fined. 40s, in default 7 days' imprisonment. Hobbs) j was charged with having driven a motor car negligently in Oxford, terrace. Mr Hobbs said that defendant would plead guilty. He had thought there was room to cross on the left side of a tram car in Oxford terrace, but a collision resulted. .Tho tram was only damaged to the extent of i)s (id, but the car was wrecked to the extent of £l5O. Defendant had been in hospital as a result of the accident. Sergeant Quariermain: Defendant vras more or less under the influence of liquor. That was the cause of the accident. . Arnold Colenso made a voluntary appearance in answer to a charge of having ridden a bicycle without lights and was fined 5s and costs. Stunley Hall, who had ridden a bicycle on the footpath, was fined 5s and costs. Uobert C-oUi was ordered to pay costs 7s for allowing a horse to wander. Stanley Fluerty was., lined 20s and costs for leaving a motor without lights. For a similar offence Crosby McCatisland was lined 10s and costs,' Lawrence Penlington 20s and costs, and V*, J. Wheeler 20s and cost.*. '■ "

M/ Johnston said that defendant was proceeding on his proper side of the road ut a moderate speed, when tho. cyclist shot ont fi-om Leinster road. Defendant edged further over towards the footpath and pulled up in seven- feet, but could not avoid an accident. The charges were dismissed by the Bench.
