ODDFELLOWSHIP.
The officers of the North Canterbury district paid an official visit to the Loyal Pliillipstown Lodge. N.G. Brother K. V. Sim, who presided, extended a hearty welcome to the visitors. F.S. Bro. A. France reported two brothers on the sick fund. Threa candidates were proposed for initiation. In responding to the third sentiment, D.G.M. Bro. C. Millington congratulated- the Lodge on the progress it was making, both financially and numerica ly, which reflected credit on the officers. A3 there were a good number of young members pie3ent, he dwelt on lha "advantages gained by becoming a member of the Manchester -Urity. and to the benefits derived therefrom. He traversed tin progress made by the district during the last two quinquennial pericds. He was al o pleaswl to note that the Bocial E.de of tha order was being maintained. The Grandmaster intimated that the next official visit wa 3 to tho Loyal Malvern Lodge on September 27th. D.D.G.M. Bro. A. F. W. James also responded to the sentiment; also members of visiting lodges. The Lodgs entertained the visitors at cards, and s.f er supper the N.G. thanked the district officers for their attendance.
