* —— i Not often does New Zealand get the opportunity of hearing the wonderful music of Northern Europe, of that part of .the Continent tliat has produced such composers as Grieg, Sinding, Sjoegren, Nordraak, Sibelius, and Palmgien. The opportunity will come to-morrow and Monday at the Choral Hall, as Haagen Holenbergh, , tho Danish pianist, is visiting tho liomimon. He' is known both in Europe and America' as an artistic interpreter of the works of these gTeat men. Mr Holenbergh has been influenced greatly in hia musical development; by Grieg himself, having made his acquaintance in early youth. Moro recently ho ha 3 been highly praised by Madame Grieg, and in tho Pross of his nativ» country, in America, and in Australia he has been greeted as: a cultivated and eminent pianist. In Australia ho appeared as eploist with the Now South Wales Orchestra when Yerbrugghen had charge of it. His repertoire includes; not qnly tho Scandinavian composers, but such great ones of the romantic school as Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, Ohopin, Liszt, and Bach. Tho box plan is now open at Tho Bristol. Patrons aro strongly advisedto book their seats. Concessions will be granted to students.
