A TRUCE DECLARED. (BT CABLS—FBESS ASSOCIATION —COPTBIdHT) (SKUTKE'S TSLXOBAMB.) (Received September 16th, 7.20 p.m.) LONDON, September 15. A surprising eleventh-hour truce was arranged on the eve of the evictions, at Clydebank. A representative meeting of factors, tenants, and Town Council was held in Glasgow during the afternoon, and agreed that all tenants who are able to do bo be requested to pay their rent or to approach the factors with a view to settlement; and that all cases which cannot be settled be referred to a tribunal for decision.
Meanwhile, evictions will be suspended for two weeks to enable the tribunal to function.
