LAWN TENNIS.
LADIES' TOURNAMENT. To introduce lady tennis players of Christckurcli and the surrounding districte to the new Wilding Park courts, a progressive tournament., for laches only, was played there yesterday. About 60 entriea "were received, and the 14 courts -were all in -use. Tho playera were drafted into two sections, and they changed partners after ©acb gamo. The players v,*ho had the "best aggregate of sanies at the conclusion of the contest "were declared the winners. The following clubs were represeited:—Opawa, New Brighton, Redcligs, Linwood, Cashmere, St. Albans, Papanui, St. Paul's, Haltrwcll, Addirgton, Avonside, ana Eangiora. The first prize winnera were ifiss Greijj (Kangjora) and Mts A. E. Steer© (Cashmere), the consolation pnzo Trinnere being Mrs Wilson (Cashmere) and Jlis3 McMillan (Cashmere). BEFORE THE CUP GAMES.
