THE WEATHER. A nor'-west -wind prevailed throughout Tuesday and Wednesday, and although a gentle, warm rani commenced to fall about 7.30 p.m. on Thursday and continued in showers throughout the night, the sun shone through about 10.30 a.m. yesterday, when all signs of the rain quickly disappeared. The rainfall registered 33 points. Social. The euehr,? prizes at the Druids' •Lodge fortnightly social were won bv Mrs G. H. Chambers and Mr W. Harvey, the consolation prizes falling to Mrs Harvey and Master R. Coulter. Mr W. Healey was M.C. Personal. Mr P. J. Williams, of Dunedin, arrived in Ashburtou yesterday afternoon in connexion with the East Ashbnrton water scheme and the Power Board's North Branch scheme.
