SUMNER FIRE BRIGADE.
GOVERNMENT INSPECTION. During this -week-end the Supervising Superintendent of the Volunteer Fire Brigades of Xcw Zealand, Captain Watti, cf Newmarket, Auckland, officially inspected tho Sumner Volunteer Fire Brigade. The Brigade turned out nine strong, and wa3 motored to the Post Office corner, where tvro leads wereused. A line pressure from the upper reservoir vrns secured- Tho course of the motor was then directed up th°. steep grades of Clifton. With a. complement of 10, and carrying 1200 feet of hose, the part}' was taken to Mulgaii's track on top speed. After making full enquiries regarding i the high and low pressure reticulation of Sumner, the, visiting officer was ] I motored bank via the Clifton Esplanade. | | Arriving at the. fire .station, Captain i I Watts briefly addressed the Brigade, and j thanked ibe'm for the kindly reception >he had received. He heartily eongratu- ! lated them upon tin* suecess of the | parade. He had been delighted with his visit, the view from Clifton being a particularly fine one.
