The couple had been married only nine months and he was due to return to Bombay to-day. A letter discovered began: "Dearest wife, we have to the end of aur resources, and, as arranged 'fretween ourselves, I ain going to shoot myself." One theory is that the wife committed suicide with her husband's revolver from grief at her loss, while the other is that .there was a death pact, and when the husband shot himself the wife's courage failed. and , she gave the alarm, but recovered her nerve when, she re-entered tie fla-t-and shot'herself with the same weapon. Apparently the young couple- were penniless. They bad been theatre-going and frequenting night dubs. No relatives are'discoverable.
