Vicks is the invention of a chemist who discovered a new way of combining time-tested remedies, such as Menthol, Camphor, Eucalyptus, Thyme, etc., in the form of an ointment which, when rubbed on the throat and chest in treating colds, releases medicated vapours. These vapours, released by the body heat, are inhaled with each breath directly into the air passages and lungs. At the same time the preparation is absorbed through and stimulates the skin like a liniment, thus aiding the vapours inhaled to break up the congestion and relieve the difficult breathing. Colds Go Over Xight. For deep chest colds, sore throat, bronchitis or croup, rub Vicks briskly over the throat and che9t, then spread on thickly and cover with hot flannel cloths. In severe cases first redden the skin with hot towels to open the pores, leaving the covering loose around the neck so that the vapours may be freely inhaled. This treatment will often break up a cold over night.' Croup is usually relieved in fifteen minutes. For head colds, catarrh, asthma or hay fever, Ticks can either be applied up the nostrils and snuffed up the head, or a little melted in a tin cup or spoon and the vapours inhaled. .Tfeis is last Offer.
