LABOUR PARTY.

TROUBLE IN QUEENSLAND. BRIEF POLITICAL CRISIS. fUY CABLE —PRESS ASSOCIATION COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND V.Z, CABLE ASSOCIATION) BRISBANE, July 29. Trouble has arisen in the ranks of the Labour Party in Queensland over the question of the forty-four hours week for State employees. At a caucus meeting Mr Theodore, Premier, opposed the abolition of the o per cent, reduction in wages. He also opposed the return to the fortyfour hours week on account of the enormous cost. A considerable disturbance* occurred, during which Mr Theodore and his Cabinet resigned, but owing to the difficulty in forming a new Ministry,.it was decided that the old Cabinet should withdraw their resignations to see what could be done in regard to the matters in dispute. On returning, Mr Theodore again presided till the meeting ended. Matters apparently have simmered down, but it is stated that the possibility of a crisis is not yet over.
