'[ (SPECIAL tO "THE FHKS9-") BLENHEIM, July 29. Marlborough will be represented at the Grand National fat stock sale, to be held 1 at Addington„ next week by several lines of prime fat wethers, which are calculated to make an excel lent impression of the. fattening .capabilities o£ the district. Special arrangements have been made ■by Blenheim mercantile firms for the stock to. be shipped to Lyttelton by the Calm, which leaves Pic-' ton ,to-day, and the, sheep passed) through Blenheim by rail this morning. Tlio Atari borough entries include a special line of 40 extra prime halfbred wethers, fattened by Mr J?i9.. Balfour, at Vernon. They are considered to be one of the best lines of their type to leave the district in a long time. The fats sire l large and firm, ai>d arc being sent from several other farms. The sheep are mainly crossbred wethers, and are in perfect condition for this time of the year. Another iferlboraugh representative that should create something of a sensation at the Grand National sale is" a fat bullock, which was also despatched to-day. It is a. giant of a beast of a live weight of some 2Scwt. He is 11 feet long from nose tip to the base of the tail, 3 feet 10 inches across the back, and 5 feet 9 inches high at the small of the back. y ■ In addition to the stock which is being shipped to-day for. the National sale, several lines of fats are being forwarded on account; of various farmers for offering at the next regular Addington sale, and as a matter of fact these lots include sheep which equal in quality the selected animals for the big sale.
