Naval authorities say that although thp chart of the approaches to Port Moresby is not of recent date thero is no reason to suppose that it is either obsolete or misleading. Navigation in coral waters is always extremely difficult. Jloubtless at tho time Brisbane grounded the conditions were not altogether favourable. The chart in use had been corrected up to 1919.
