: —. ' MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. At tiio last meeting of the executive oi tlie Christchurch Returned Soldiers' Association Mr E. Orchard presided. Mr W. Lints, who is organising tho revue to bo produced at the Theatre Hoyal from September fith to September 13th in aid oi the funds o£ tho Association, presented st progress report. CMr Lints was thanked for his repon, und Messrs M. W. Cummins, C. V. Qvugley, A. J. B.ackburn, H. Fleck and "\V. K. Leadley were appointed a sub-com-mitteo to arrange for tho printing cf the programme for tho revue. Correspondence was received frsin the Lancaster Park Board cf Control and the Canterbury Kugbv Union with reference to the annual 'football match between Canterbury and Otago returned soldiers. The Board of Control stated that it could not allow the use of the par!: lor the match on September 27th (the date given by thft Union to the Association), as tho rule was not to allow football on the park after the second Saturday in September. Tho idea of this was to give time to prepare the pitch for cricket. The Rugby Union, advised that tho Association could havo the use cf the Show Grounds cn September 27th, but tho executive considered that this arrangement • wus most unsatisfactory, and it was regretfully docided to recommend the Dunedin Association to cancel tlie match for tho present year. A letter was received from the secretary to t.ho Governor-General intimating that his Excellency would bo pleased to attend tho reunion and smoke concert of tho Association on August l-'li. It was decided that- the function should take tho form of an official farewell to Lord Oellicoe, an<T a comm'.tteo wa3 sopointod to make full ■ arrangements. Several pension cases were reported as having been brought to a. satisfactory conclusion. and several letters of thanks Were received from members for work dono on their behalf. General Sir Donald McGavin, Medical Administrator oi Pensions, wrote stating that in future service patients entering the Queen Mary Hospital, Har.mer Springs, would be required to take with them 'iho following articles: —Two pairs of boots, one pair of slippers, a, great-coat, handkerchiefs ana toilet requisites. Other articles of clothing, such as Bhirts, socks, singlets and hospital "blues" would be supplied by the authorities. The reply was considered satisfactory. In tho past patients were required to take with them a. largo quantity of clothing, often purchased at considerable expense, and ■when they arrived at tho hospital they discovered that much of the .clothing was not wanted and was put into store.
