THEFT AT WEMBLEY.

VALUABLE PEARL STOLEN.

(IT CABLE—fBSSS ASSOCIATION—COrtEIOHT.) (HEtJTKfi's TBLIOBAMS. )

LONDON, July 14,

A pearl valued at £1250 has been stolen from the Australian Pavilion at Wembley. Details of the theft show that a girl server at a jewel stall was asked to show a scarf-pin to two men. She opened a case, and forgot to lock it while attending to the men. When she returned a minute later the poarl was missing. A lady visitor nearby said she saw a man take the pearl from the case, and did not realise that he was committing a theft. Ilia server was so upset that she forgot to ask the lady's name or to follow tlie men. The crime is therefore without a clue.
