Massey, Christchurch, -wrote stating that it bad been suggested that a silk flag of New Zealand with a silver fern worked I on it should be presented to the A.l Blacks 1 on leaving the Dominion, and M!r G. Payne had offered to take charge of it and return it to Christchurch. He thought it would become historical. If the silk was provided Messrs Johnson and Couzins would make the flag free of charge.It was decided to advise Mr Massey to forward his request to the New Zealand Union. It was stated that the jubilee of Canterbury football would shortly be celebrated, and it was decided to ask Mr W. G. Garrard to write « history' of the game for the occasion. A letter "was received from Mr P. Martin Smith, chairman of the N.Z.U.P.C., stating that the Sydney University Rugby footDall team was eapected to reach Auckland on August 19th, by the Manuka. The team would meet Canterbury College, at Christ* church on August 27th, and the second test match won'.d be played in Christchurch on August 30th. The letter was received, and the dateß approved. In connexion with a protest against the age of players in the Old Boys team, the honorary secretary of the Old Boys team wrote stating that no player other than those actually picked turned out to p'.ay for the fifth grade team againßt North Can-, terbury. All the players selected were seventeen years of age and under. Dr. Seed Baid that the 0!d Boy 3. Club wished to protest against the allegations, which did not look wall.

It was decided .to dismiss the protest oi the North Canterbury Club and to send a copy of the letter forwarded by the Old Boys Club. . At the conclusion of the League football match yesterday a wild demonstration occiured among members in the pavilion, and the referee, Mr T McMahon, was assaulted. The trouble followed the ordering-oif of an Australian forward, Potter, allegedly for striking an opponent. When the referee left the field he was mobbed, and a' free fight was avoided with difficulty. Potter and Bacon, an English three-quarter, went to the referee's assistance, and with the arrival of a squad of police the trouble cooled off. ORGANISER IN DUNEDIN. (PRESS ASSOCIATION* TYLy ) DUNEDIN, June 24. Mr H. A. Millard, organiser of the Rugby League, addressed an enthusiastic meeting to-night, presided .over by Mr S. J. Douglas (Deputy-Mayor).
