The famous Blue Diamond, once one of the Russian Crown jewels, was redeemed on Saturday from the State pawnshop at Nice. The late Czar presented the diamond in 1912 to Mile. Suzanna Thillier, tho authoress, who frequented the Russian court. After the Revolution her chateau was confiscated, and she came to France. She lost heavily at gambling at Monte Carlo, and pawned the diamond, which was of 43 carats, for 200,000 francs. An American millionaire now has offered £200,000, whi);h will enable Mile. Thillier to pay her debts.
