SUMNER FIRE BRIGADE.
Superintendent J. Carter presided over a full attendance of members of the Sumner Volunteer Fire Brigade last night. Correspondence was received from the Sumner Borough Council, the Canterbury Provincial Fire Brigade Association,' the United Fire Brigade Association, and from the New Brighton Volunteer Fire Brigade. The I chairman tendered a very hearty welcome to I the new members. After a lengthy discus- | sion, it was decided to hold the annual social and dance in the Town Hall on July j 25th. It was arranged that Wells's orchestra ' should be engaged, and that the Tramway Board should be asked to provide a special late car for tho city visitors at the usual rates. It was also agreed that the Brigade should invite the Sumner-Bedcliffs Rille Club i.to attend a social evening on July Ist. "
