PEARLING LUGGER LOST.

(BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION COtTBIOHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) PEETH, Juno 14. * The pearling lugger Eileen is missing and is believed to have foundered with her crew of twelve, composed of six Japanese and six Koepanders. The coast is being searched.
UGA ftIARU ASHORE.
(ASSTSALIAJr Utß H.Z. CABLB ABB0CUTI01.) SYDNEY, June 14. The Japanese steamer TJga Maru, which was recently ashore in Torres Strait, is reported to be aground at Manila. The vessel has 5000 tons of coal for Manila, which will have to be lightered.
FATAL FIRE *TN STEAMER.

At the inquest regarding, the death of Albert Greenham, a fireman, who lost; hiß life in a fire in the steamer .City of Singapore, the Chief Inspector of Explosives stated that he had come to the conclusion that the fire was due 'to the spontaneous comibustion of coal. The explosion was probably due to a mixture of coal-gas and air.
