A BIG ROUND-UP.

WILD HORSES ON EAST COAST,

, (SPECIAL 10 "THB MSBSS.") GLBBORNE, June 14. For* many years horses hanfe been multiplying in great, numbers on the Coast, due to the fact that so many brumbies have been allowed to run wild/ It is estimated fhat there are many thousands of wild and eemiwild horses on the moor lands on the Coast. The majority of these are of no particular breed and they, are of very little use, A big round up of horses is to take place in the near future, and these, when collected, will bo driven down to the Tokomaru Bay works, where they are to be killed and boiled down. The works closed recently, and as soon as they have been straightened up the horses will be brought in. It is estimated that close of 2000 horses will be' killed. The majority of these will be coming from the Ruatorea district. The projected use of the land for dairying has necessitated the removal of the horses.
