NEW YORK, June 9,

Six men working in an.enamel oven ia an automobile plant at Chicago became trapped. Their only change of escape was a choice of dashing through a wall of flame or wading a vat of boiling paint.

Four chose the former and died. The others waded the vat and escaped, though badly burned.
