The weather cleared in Auckland yesterday, and there is every prospect of the Auckland Racing Club's Winter Meeting being concluded to-day.

JUDGMENT. .The Judges find tliat J. Kenny, b©in* a Bookmaker and Bookmakers' Aeent within the meaning of Rule 9, Part XV., of the • itnies-of Racing-, did enter the niare ,'P * r » co oontroiy to the provisions of Rule 1, (6) Part XXXII;, of the eaid Rules ana was thereby guilty of a corrupt practice for wjjich ho wbb in accordanoe with the Bulo disqualified. They also find that any hor?6 in connexion with which the corrupt practice occurred, also becomws automatically disqualified under Rule 4, Part XXXII.-, of the Rules of Raoing. ELLESMERE COUNTY TROTTING CLUB.

Affairs in connexion with the iw»nt Ellesmere Annual Baca Meeting and the annual boll were dealt with at a week-end m&eting of the oommittee of the Elieemera County Trotting Club, over which Mr R. T. McMillan (president) presided. The Deputy Commissioner of Stamps ■wrote demanding S per oent. tax on stakes, this being: the amount stipulated in the Amendment to the. Stamp Duties Act, which placed non-totalisaior clubs on the tame looting as those onjoying the privileges of the totalizator. Th« secretary (Mr O. G. Fisher) stated that oh. the programme it had been given out that the tax m ona per oent. The president considered it was unfair to place non-totalisator oluha on the same footing as thorn having totalisator permits. There was, it was pointed out, no alternative but to pay the tax. The secretary presented an approximate statement of accounts, showing that there would be a baUnco of £42 odd after accounts' in hard weft paid, but there were other «kCcounte to oom« in. Despite the wet weather, the gate receipts were almost as -good as ab the previous race meeting. The receipts from tho ball amounted to £B2 10s 8d and the expenditure to date £79 14s 2d. There were still some amounts to come in, and when all the aoounts were paid there would probably be a small credit balance on the ball acoount. It was reported that application had been made for Thursday, April 33rd, for next year's race meeting. It was decided to support the Sports Protection League.
