RANGIORA ITEMS.
The Rangiora Silver Band gave a very fine sacred concert at the Institute Hall last evening. There was a large audience. The programme, besides marches and hymns by the Band, included a double-bass solo, ''Asleep in the Deep," by Bandsman A. Presfcney, a violin solo, "Braga S&renata," Bandsman J. Mcßride; euphonium solo, "I Capaletti," Mr J. Simpson; vocol solos, Miss P. Ranby and Mr H. Murdoch. Mr E. J. Kimpson was the conductor, and the accompanistes were Misses M. Bnyley and Cassidy. ' The Salvation Army Hall was filled to overflowing last night, the attraction being an Indian party—Major Devji, Staff-Captain David, end Adjutant Charker, who are visiting the district in the interests of the Army mission work. The deputation will continue their mission to-morrow night, when special reference will ■ be made to Indian life and idol worship. On Saturday evening the Presbyterian Sunday School children were entertained by teachers and friends to a tea and social evening. An enjoyable tame was spent by playing games and competitions.
